ALERT WARNING SYSTEMS

Preventing Accidents, Injuries & Deaths

The Alert Warning System Lite is a proven performer that reduces and nearly eliminates roadway work zone accidents! The AWS Lite system consists of six specialized LED lightheads with precise optics that, when activated, will get the attention of the distracted motorist. This gives the inattentive motorist time to react and take appropriate action, whether that means stopping or changing lanes, before they become a statistic.

The Alert Warning System Pro takes it to the next level by adding a loud and sustained 130db audible warning that can be heard over the radio, phone, air conditioning, etc. which forces the distracted driver to look up and see the AWS warning lights and take corrective action.

For the smaller support vehicles we offer the Alert Warning System Jr.. This scaled down system is perfect for motorist assist trucks, support vehicles, sign & cone trucks, etc..

DOT Highway Vehicles

The world is changing all around us. Driver distraction has become one of the biggest challenges for highway workers to deal with today. Cell phones, GPS, texting, talking, emailing, you name it, drivers just don't focus on what they should be doing... Driving! Unfortunately this translates into an ever increasing level of danger for the men and women working on our highways.

Our mission is to make it safer for everyone. Highway Crews and Drivers

We have spent years working with one of the most progressive DOT's in the nation to develop and perfect the Alert Warning System. With their input and real world knowledge from testing these systems on major highways throughout the state, we have been able to create a multi-stage warning system that is effective in getting the attention of the distracted driver and preventing needless injury or loss of life.

Highway Maintenance Vehicles

Anyone working on a busy highway knows how dangerous the job can be. If you're in a static work zone, that's not too bad. If you're working on a busy interstate blocking the lane as your crew slowly crawls along filling pot holes, that's a completely different story.

You know all too well the dangers associated with working in highway traffic. Driver's don't slow down. They just see you as an impediment on the way to their destination. Add to that, talking, texting, putting on makeup and all of the other distractions that take attention away from driving and you have a potentially deadly mix.

Anything you can do to mitigate the dangers is a welcome relief. With the Alert Warning System on the job, your workplace becomes significantly safer. Getting a driver's attention in time to avoid a crash is key. The Alert Warning System does just that. Our warning signal stands out from the ambient 'noise', keeping your crews safe.

About Us

Alert Warning Systems is a company committed to the Public Safety sector. We worked with the Missouri Department of Transportation to develop the rear facing collision avoidance system. MODOT came to us with a problem and we came up with a solution. Starting with "off the shelf" components, a crude but effective warning system began to emerge. The project began by creating a custom visual warning signal and eventually folding in a proprietary high performance audio warning component. The AWS is the only solution available to be adopted by two of the country's leading DOT's. In 2016 the Missouri Department of Transportation has approved & adopted the Alert Sound System for it's highway fleet. In 2018 the Iowa DOT purchased their first several systems. With our next delivery later this year (2021), they will have more than fifty Pro systems in use.

Which warning system is best for you?

For large trucks and crews working county highways, two lanes to four, the Alert Warning Lights may be all you need depending on how much traffic the roadways carry.

For large trucks and crews working on major interstates, you don't want anything less than the best. The Alert Warning System Pro is the protection you need to keep your people safe.

For small trucks, one ton and below, the Alert Warning System Jr. is the perfect combination of size and performance. With smaller speakers, you have a lot more flexibility with installation.

Alert Warning System Lite

This is a powerful warning tool that is proven to increase driver's reaction times, significantly reducing the likelihood of a construction zone crash.

Utilizing six specialized high power LED light pods, these are designed to focus the energy directly behind the truck for maximum protection. In addition, they are designed with a sharp cut off with minimal distraction to drivers in other lanes.

In addition, they have a precise vertical beam angle to allow for changes in the rise/fall of the pavement. When activated, they simply cannot be ignored.

AWS Sound Pro

This is our complete warning system for large highway service vehicles. Consisting of six specialized Alert Lights, our proprietary controller and a unique directional 400w speaker array that produces 129db at thirty feet.

Our Pro System has been tested in the field under all kinds of conditions and the crews who rely on it don't want to work on the highway with out it.

AWS Sound Jr.

Designed for smaller highway service trucks such as Motorist Assist and crew support vehicles. The Alert Warning System Jr. is made up from three of our specialized Alert Lights, our proprietary controller and two directional high power 100w speakers. We also offer an optional upgrade to four speakers for extra warning power.
